How does one ease into the mundane from the exhilaration of the foreign?

It has always been like this. Whenever I return from a trip it takes a while to get my bearings.  Everything seems dull and ordinary compared to the vitality of those days on the road. How does one ease into the mundane from the exhilaration of the foreign?

I wish I know how to answer that but it's the same for me. Writing about it helps me re-live the memories and makes the transition a bit easier.

Hmmmm... to me it's the opposite. When I return, everything old is new again in a way, like I have a new set of eyes.

Same here. I just try to reconnect with the most challenging part/ activity to be aligned with normalcy again. On a lighter note, the reconnection also happens while unpacking the luggage.
