Reads

Thursday, September 30, 2010

Of the books I’ve read these past three months, eight are nonfiction; two are essay collections; two are about traveling around Asia; two are on photography; three were made into movies; three made me change the way I think about food; one made me proud to be a snoot; one taught me the meaning of the words baksheesh and duffilled; and one gave me the superb idea to put curry on scrambled eggs.

You've done a better run on reading books than me! I feel like I've not read in ages ¬_¬ How did you find Atonement? I loved it!

Interesting reads. I have not read a book in months. Shameful, I know.

can't wait for the semester to be over, so I can finally read good books, not law books. haha

I first had curried eggs thirty years ago in a small cafe in London. A terrific way to have boiled eggs.

@unstranger: curried eggs is truly yummy - a bit of an acquired taste, though. haha

@sinta: i loved the book! and the movie, too.

@anonymous: sadly, baksheesh is still a way of life here. it would be good if all those baksheesh-seeking officials get all duffilled, huh? :)

@kayni: eat, pray, love got a lot of bad reviews, but i enjoyed it anyway. it made me want to go to bali! hahaha

@amelia, loree, arti: since i live alone and rarely go out, i can devote most of my free time to books. and it's a great way to spend one's time, too. :)

@mordsith: malapit na ang sem break. makakapag pahinga ka na uli. :) and you really deserve a nice break from everything.
