Presumption of Significance

Tuesday, April 15, 2008

Why do we take seriously what is in no way serious? We read, see or hear something and we automatically presume that it has something to do with us. It doesn’t really concern us yet we go ballistic about it. Oftentimes we put too much significance on ourselves that we cannot comprehend that not everything is about us. Our presumption leads to our undoing.

A lot of hooey. :)

In a leadership training I attended we were told to attack the deed and not the person. But it is more fun to say to a subordinate "you good for nothing maggot if I get fired I am taking you with me."

you call them good for nothing maggots? you can do better than that. there are more organisms out there who are lower in the food chain than the maggot. :)
