Hibernation

Tuesday, December 18, 2007

Instead of participating in the holiday festivities, I plan to hibernate and live reclusively this coming Christmas break. For eight days, I will lock myself up in my flat to avoid - as much as possible – the holiday rush, the jostling crowd, my mother’s incessant visitors, the bingeing, the excessive partying, and virtually all signs of life.

For animals, the purpose of hibernation is to conserve energy during the lean months of winter. The same goes for me. From my hibernation and seclusion, I hope to emerge renewed, refreshed and revitalized.

Happy Holidays.

YUP, Pinoy christmas is way festive than western white christmas...Winter is so extremely depressing...Snow looks good on postcards but i would always choose spending Christmas the old Filipino way ...with all the food, noise, people and shopping madness...Hopefully next year i'd get the chance...

Deciduous trees and shrubs hibernate in the winter, too. I thought you are an evergreen with magical powers to withstand the rigors of winter.

I have found with you
Like a rose under the April snow
I was always certain love would grow
Love, ageless and evergreen" :)
